Father's Day 2010

Written in my journal at 11:18pm

I just finished a workout on the total gym and am now all cleaned up in my pajamas ~ laying on our bed. I hear Tony running on the treadmill ... funny how we both had this burst of energy late at night. I'm thinking it has something to do with the yummyu made.by.mom pina coloda cake and coffee we had my parents house not too long ago. And maybe the ping pong and sword fighting on the Wii. Just maybe that has something to do with it. :) It was a lot of fun! I'm glad we got mom the Wii for her birthday.

After church, we stopped by IGA's to get a gift for Tony's dad. At first we were leaning towards fancy steaks, but when we saw the corned beef briskets we both knew that was it! We picked out a pretty one {if meat can be pretty} and a pack of honeymoon. He seemed excited when he opened it. :) At Tony's parents we enjoyed KFC with lots of yummy sides and delicious texas sheet cake. It was soooo good!

We came home for a couple hours. I cleaned the kitchen, watered the garden, and made a batch of cheese biscuits {they're becoming quite the staple at the dinner table}. Tony read for a little while, then took a nap (probably another reason for all that energy). Around 5:30pm we went to my parents house. Mom prepared a roast with veggies. We had dad's surprise set up in their backyard ~ a very nice hammock {he was actually looking at some online earlier today}.We enjoyed a down pour of rain and a very cool looking sky afterwards.

A day to celebrate our dads. Lord, I thank you that it went so well. I have so much to be grateful for. I know that my dad loves me so much. He has always loved me, protected me, and provided for me. By your grace. Thank you so much for the grace extended to my dad. Thank you for your salvation that was brought to my family. You have been so faithful. May dad continue to be strengthened in the faith. May you comfort his heart. Draw him close to you. May he continue to live his life in a manner that exhibits the gospel - the power of it. Thank you so much for him! For making me his daughter.
