Glimpse from our week

My sweet husband is taking a much needed nap in the front living room, so I decided to come in here and update our blog. Tony had to work some extra hours this week, as they were installing a new phone system. We praise God for the extra income that will bring in!! He also started his sociology class this week, which has resulted in little sleep. He's been staying up late reading, studying, taking a couple quizzes, and making a few posts on the message board. He has also been preparing for the grammar and math assessment tests that he will be taking next week. We are both a little anxious to get those tests behind us. If he fails them, he will have to take remedial classes in English and Math. Lord willing that will not be the case!! They seem to always put the hardest questions on those tests. Last night he finished all his assignments for this week. So we're using the weekend to prepare for next week.

We are also taking some "marriage counseling". ;) Our dear friend Harlan is taking counseling courses at Liberty University, and for one of his assignments he has to do a three week mock marriage counseling session. So we are the guinea pigs. This past Tuesday night, Harlan & Blair came over for our first session. Tony & I were both a little nervous about it... just because we didn't really know what to expect and we've never done counseling before. I'd say we had a fun time and are very grateful for this opportunity!!! Harlan did leave us with some homework - a 500 questionnaire. Yes, I thought he was joking at first... but it really does have 500 questions. Tony & I were very excited to get that finished earlier today. :D It will be interesting to see the results. We'll actually be heading to Goldsboro in a little bit to deliver the test to Harlan.

On Thursday night we joined Harlan downtown for the Center Street Jam to pass out gospel tracts. Tony wore his sandwich board and a few conversations took place. May God do a work in their hearts!!

Oh, today marks our 66 month anniversary!!! Praise the LORD! :) We decided to have a little cookout at the Cliffs of the Neuse State Park. We had italian turkey burgers on quesadilla buns, with grilled corn, and yellow squash. Very tasty!! We've just had a relaxing day here at the house and our looking forward to going to Books A Million tonight to read up on how to become debt free. We've also been imagining how neat it would be if we were one day able to move to the mountains of NC; have a rippling creek that flows through our yard and trees that surround the property. It would be nice!! :)
