Adorable Pin Cushion!

Last month I took part in a world wide Pin Cushion Swap hosted by Leigh-Ann @ Freckled Nest. Over a hundred people signed up and we were put into pairs. My swap partner ended up being a sweet girl from Canada. I have enjoyed getting to know my {new} friend better and am grateful to God for her!! ;) Over the period of a month we worked on our little pincushions, packaged them up, and sent them via snail mail. What fun to recieve "real" mail. She sent me this cute little hedgehog pincushion, a knitted drink cozy (which is getting much use), and a real sweet note!! I've had a hard time getting a "good" picture of the hedgehog - it is way cuter in person!! Thank you so much Anna!

A break from the norm

Yesterday we had only one small thing on our to-do list, namely to get Tony measured for a tux that he'll be wearing in a wedding this Spring. {I must say that Tony will be the best looking one there. Haha.} From there we ate some lunch, sipped on coffee, took a scenic drive around Goldsboro -- and walked some lovely trails at Stoney Creek Park. The rest of the day was spent at home. We througholy enjoyed it. A whole day to ourselves, with nowhere to go and nothing to do. A day to relax and create the schedule as we go. Real sweet togetherness time ~ just the two of us!

Wonderful Visit

We were delighted to host Scott, Kelley, and Baby earlier this week. They've been on tour the past four months promoting Scott's book, "The Sword of the Dragon." [1] It's kind of neat knowing a published author. :) We enjoyed family dinners, lots of UNO Attack, popcorn, cookie dough, Stargate, and baby talk.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch with my mom and sisters. Then we gracefully tackled some wedding plans.
P.S. I received the cutest pin cushion in the mail today and can't wait to show him off. He's waiting patiently for a photo shoot. :)

How my iPod came to be

I am loving this weather!! Sunny, low 70's, with a slight breeze. Perfect day to sit out on the porch and read; which is what I just did for an hour. It was nice! Now I have gardening on the mind. Lots of pretty flowers and plants. Tall glass of lemonade. Even mowing the yard! While listening to some music on my brand new iPod touch. An awesome surprise from My Prince!!
A few weeks ago, we were up super late doing school work (think wee morning hours). Both of us were very much ready for bed, but there were deadlines and things had to be done. So there we sat at the dining room table. Books and laptops spread across the table - and two cups of coffee. I was acting as his "research assistant" - gathering info for one of his philosophy papers. :) Now, although I desire to be Tony's joyful helpmeet at all times, it does not always happen. I do not always approach these tasks joyfully. And as the hours passed by that night, I was becoming less and less joyful - more and more selfish. Maybe not so much physically / verbally, but more-so in my heart. And it was around that time, that Tony graced my hand with a kiss and told me that he had a surprise for me. (Yes! Talk about hot coals.) He knows that I love surprises - especially from him! He told me that it should be here toward the end of the next week. Yay!!
Well the surprise took a little longer to arrive then he expected. I tried to wait patiently! ;) During the course of the following weeks, I gained a pretty good hunch of what the surprise was. Last Thursday, as I was leaving the house to meet Tony for lunch (Always nice to see him mid-day!!), there was a small package on the porch, so I brought it with me. It was addressed to me, from Electrolux. My surprise!! We opened it together - and there sat my new iPod touch. And the best part... we didn't have to pay for it. Tony won it! "Congratulations, By random you were selected as one of the 10 lucky winners in the Electrolux video challenge." So exciting! And as you can see, I've already girly-fied her. She has a couple outfits - one pink and one purple. It is great for main-streaming all my lists - to-do, groceries, etc. And the integrated calendar is already getting much use. Such a great surprise from my bestest friend!!

Dear Blog,

I have missed thee. Life has been keeping us busy. It is Tony's final week of this term. Never again will he take three classes at the same time. It is and was a lot of work. Too much work. Many, many hours were designated to school. And with that came very little sleep for several weeks in a row. So needless to say, we are both pretty excited that the finals are finally here. And that Monday he will be starting a new term with only one class scheduled. Yes. Only ONE!!
p.s. Blog, soon you will be getting a new outfit. I've been working on it slowly and can't wait for you to try it on. :)
p.s.s. If you can't tell, I'm looking forward to Springtime.
